The all-new 2017 Ford Raptor climbing a grassy hill

The 2016 North American International Auto Show has just wrapped up, and it seems that Ford’s done it again. With the revelation of the stunning new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew, the automaker has changed the pickup-truck game, forcing its competitors to play catchup once more. Check out the future of truck design!

The new F-150 Raptor SuperCrew modifies the F-150 you’ve come to know and love, boosting the ground clearance, long-travel suspension and interior volume. It also retains the aluminum construction of the F-150 for impressive weight reduction — Ford claims as much as 500 pounds have been shed because of it. Less weight also means better performance, and this is especially true when you have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 powerplant to work with, as the new Raptor does. It takes the place of the previous model’s engine, a 6.2-liter V8, and is expected to outperform its predecessor. That’s no small feat — that V8 engine is a real dynamo, generating up to 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque! The new 10-speed automatic transmission of the Raptor SuperCrew should help, and it will likely also contribute to the truck’s undoubtedly superior fuel economy.

The 2017 Ford Raptor SuperCrew will also boast an improved four-wheel-drive system with torque on demand and an intuitive terrain-response system that switches between six modes: Street, Weather, Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja and Normal. Plus, standing 12 inches longer than the SuperCab model, the new truck will have an incredibly spacious and comfortable cabin.

It sounds like you’ll be able to go anywhere and do anything inside this powerful pickup! We can’t wait to get our hands on it down here in South Carolina at our Ford dealership in Travelers Rest. Stay tuned for more news about the new F-150 and further updates from the Detroit auto show as they come in!
